Dear eHarmony,
For years, we have been searching for the loves of our lives. Trying through friends, family and just opening up our mouths and saying “Hi”. With each tried effort, the chemistry just wasn’t quite right. Then came eHarmony and the love that we have been searching for was found.
Kenneth: My own personal experience with finding someone to spend my life with has been a mixed bag. There have been some good relationships and not so good ones. All of which I have learned some valuable life lessons. I had been a little wary about dating sites in the past. The ones I’ve seen before just look at the surface, and no further than that. I had heard about eHarmony through a good friend of mine. So I said “Why not?” I was so impressed by the personality profile and the way you can meet other compatible singles. Some of the responses were quite interesting. Then one night, reading through emails, I was found by someone over half a world away.
Some say it is not easy in a long distance relationship. A true love will reach you at the deepest core no matter where they are. I knew that there is someone in the world for everyone. I have found my Princess, my Queen. I was attracted to Elica's sense of self and allure. I was instantly drawn to how well she presented herself and she gave me a sense of calm right away. I loved every bit of what I saw at first glance. Her sense of humor is phenomenal. I think she has great comedic timing. All I can say is that I now know what “Love at first sight” truly means. We have been engaged for over 10 months now. She lives in Basingstoke, U.K. I live in Seattle, USA. She gives me love, honesty, friendship and a true companionship that I have never felt before.
Elica: What can I say? The first thing, which attracted me to Kenneth, was the line “I can not live without carrot cake”. Not many people would put this as one of the things they can’t live without. And after that was his smile. The way he’d put his thoughts into that first page of his profile, sounded, so like me, although they were different than mine. I fell in love with his honesty, caring nature, sense of humor, his willingness to share things, to do things together. When he sent me a page of the comic book he draws and trusted me with my evaluation. We had so much in common in the way how we perceive life, our life values. I have to say that previous relationships have taught me what to seek for in future relationships.
Our first date actually never happened. We were supposed to meet each other at Heathrow Airport on Kenneth’s way to Germany. I was waiting at arrival point on terminal 4; meanwhile he was in search of me at terminal 1. So we were looking for each other frantically. We had only 1 hour between the connecting flights. We were going back and forth through terminals. Finally I was just looking at the screen saying the flight to Düsseldorf has left. Our first proper date was few days later in Düsseldorf. He came to the hotel to pick me and my friend Pepa. We were already in love with each other thanks to the countless emails and chats during the three months period of cyber dating. I remember seeing him at the lobby, waiting in his coat. We hugged and then kissed each other. This has been the moment we’ve been waiting for three looong months. We all had a great night out. Pepa is now our maid of honor.
When I joined eHarmony I was impressed that they create your profile first and then send you the profiles of who they think are compatible with you. The option to leave at any time, the questions, the open conversations. That you are actually the one who decides when to stop. I have to admit that it took awhile, but it is worth it every minute waiting and searching. I’ve met some great guys, others not so great. But finally I’ve met my Prince. Not so easy on overseas relationship, but love makes miracles.
And here we are writing this letter to you to say “Thank you!” Thank you for the entire job you have done creating this site and bringing singles together from all over the world. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to find each other and get to know one another without the physical distraction , which led to our engagement later on and our wedding on 30 May 2006. Thank you so very much for existing. We knew the love of our lives were out there somewhere in the world, and luckily, we finally caught up to each other.
Kenneth: we were married on May 30th in my wife's home country of Bulgaria. Even though we were on two separate continents (she lives in Britian, I live in the US), we were able to grow our love for each other and be there for one another every day. We would like to thank eHarmony for bringing us together.
